Based in Birmingham, Clarke Transport is one of the leading privately owned multi-service transport organisations in the UK. Back in 1933 Clarke Transport was established to provide the very first direct road service between the industrial Midlands and Scotland.

Managing hundreds of vehicles and thousands of delivery dockets per day from several depots around the UK is a challenge to a modern company in a business environment that is increasingly competitive and fast moving.

When Clarkes were looking to use electronic mobile devices to issue PODs (Proof Of Delivery) to instruct drivers of their deliveries and capture client signatures their primary concern was performance and reliability of such a system.

Barracuda has been used by Clarkes to fulfil this role since 2008 - and has processed literally millions of POD records during this time. Shortly after using Barracuda for the POD reporting other uses for the technology were adopted.

Clarkes now use Barracuda on their mobile devices to enforce a Daily Driver Defect Report before the vehicle leaves the depot, and also for Incident Reporting to capture details and photographic evidence in the event of an incident occurring.

Any defect failure or incident reported during the day is immediately sent to a nominated depot / head office email recipient with a Barracuda generated MS-Word document attached - which contains a familiar electronic 'paper copy' of the report.

Using the Barracuda API the system is tightly integrated with Clarkes own bespoke back office system.
